The thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure for the face, neck, or jowls to pull sagging skin back into place
EuroThread Minimally Invasive Facelift
Threads are reabsorbable surgical sutures composed of biodegradable polymers. We use this technique to return sagging skin to it's proper place without the harsh side effects and downtime of surgery. The treatment is minimally invasive and produces instant results. Polydioxanone (PDO) sutures are used for biomedical applications, particularly in cardiothoracic surgery because it is fully absorbed by hydrolysis within 4 to 6 months and doesn’t create any scar tissue. The foreign body stimulates collagen synthesis and the skin structure created will hold for 12 to 15 months.
A thread face lift can treat the outer brow, cheeks (including sagging in the main cheek), naso-labial or nose to mouth, lower eye areas, jawline, and neck. Many of these areas can be performed at the same time.
How does it work?Dr. Ramirez uses a special thread material, also called a PDO Thread, which is a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, and made of protein.Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, while causing a foreign body reaction to improves the blood flow to the area. This action stimulates neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen in the deep layers of the skin). It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, which are naturally occuring in healthy skin and are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin.
Change is seen immediately after the procedure. Over the coming weeks, results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 12 weeks, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin.
